This simple, yet delicious salad is a great side for many Cuban dishes. Best of all, it’s hard to mess up!
- Olive oil
- Lemon juice
- Avocado
- Salt
- Pepper
- Cut the avocado in half lengthwise, separate, and remove the pit. Carefully, use a knife to cut slices inside the avocado. Use a spoon to scoop out the pieces so that the avocado comes out in slices.
- In a small bowl, pour a little bit of olive oil and a few small squirts of lemon juice. Stir it together, until it is no longer separated.
- Pour the dressing over the avocado slices. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.

The avocado salad is often served in Miami Cuban restaurants when avocados are in season. Be sure you wait until the avocados are ripe, so that it will come out perfect! Some restaurants serve avocado salad with sliced raw white onion, as well, if you would like to try it out!
